A new government

A new government

On 6th May 2012, the UK got a new government, and this is a coalition government by between the conservative party and the Liberal Democrats. The prime minister is the leader of the Conservatives, and he is the youngest prime minister for almost 200 years. This is first time the Lib Dems in 65 years that made part of a government.

In the general election, the Conservations won 30% of the votes, labor 29%, abed the Lib Dems 23%. On the other hand, Of the 650 seats in the British parliament, the Conversations won 306, Labor won 258, and the Lib Dems only have 57. Therefore, the system of the British parliament votes that is not fair for the Lib Dems, and many the UK people also agree. In the negotiations, the Lib Dems think need change to a proportional system as a condition for entering a coalition. Last the Conservative agree it. However, the reformers need a long way from full PR.
